Hailing from the Netherlands, physician scientist Alexander de Porto joined the Pamer lab in July, 2022 as a visiting postdoctoral fellow.  Alexander graduated cum laude from medical school at the University of Amsterdam and went on to  received a scholarship from the Amsterdam UMC where he earned his PhD. While in the Pamer Lab, Alexander’s research will focus on the relation between the microbiota composition and clinical outcomes in critically ill patients using data analysis.
