
Matthew Odenwald, MD PhD
Gastroenterology Fellow
Matt is a current gastroenterology fellow at The University of Chicago with an interest in hepatology. He received his MD and PhD from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he studied epithelial cell biology in the laboratory of Dr. Jerrold Turner. During his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology, he developed an interest in the complexity of caring for patients with liver disease. In the Pamer Lab, he is studying the impact of the intestinal microbiome on the development of liver disease and its complications, including the predisposition to drug resistant infections.
